I just answered the first part of the question. I let that bit about "trusting them to tell the truth" slide.
I don't trust any president to tell the American people the complete truth and nothing but the truth. And you know what? I don't think they should! There are some things that need to be kept secret.
I can respect your answer. I don't believe it's necessary to divulge a State secret in order to tell the Truth. What I have found unique about Senator Obama among all of the candidates - including Ron Paul, is his message that to change the way things are going, the people have to be involved, which implies they are responsible. And that's what makes us adults. Adults accept responsibility. Ron Paul is the exception in his message on Banking and Finance.
The Country isn't headed the direction it's in because of politicians, it's the populace who relinquished control to a Government that the Framers were cynical of in every well thought out constraint.
If you tax large corporations to much they will move to a country where they are taxed less. They are not in buisness to lose money, and they must answer to there stock holders. Many countries in eastern Europe have low taxes on big corporations and they are booming.
If you had a buisness and you were taxed 40% in your county, but the county next to you would only tax you 15% where would you locate?

Businesses have to answer to their shareholders. If our government wanted to keep more of them here, they'd lower their capital gains taxes and allow more competition through less regulation. Eventually, the companies that provide nothing of real value would go out of business while those that provide better goods and services would prosper. We need less government regulation in business.

I own a business.
It depends, what are the other costs of doing business? What are the Costs of living? What will it cost to import my goods to the consumers? What are the costs of distance as I move farther from my consumers and will I be out of touch with their needs? At what point is enough profit enough and where does my enjoyment of business ownership derive from.
On a personal level it comes from helping someone navigate the increasing legal and financial complexities involved with buying and selling realestate. How this will relate to other business models I am unsure.
I do know that I would like a politician who is able to present a clear picture of the market, good or bad and then let me decide how to proceed. We're the Economy, and believe it or not, we can fix ourselves. And we do it faster the less Gov.'s involved.
Most wealthy Americans would be shocked by any real numbers about our economy. However, Americans laid off because the financiers decided their factory would make more money in China wouldn't be shocked. Small town businessmen shut down by Wal-mart wouldn't be shocked. Union workers trying to compete with illegal labor wouldn't be shocked.
I just hope these people vote Democratic in all the positions on the fall ballots. Then the Republicans will be shocked.
Not wealthy, but I was shocked by the economic numbers a couple weeks ago. Lower unemployment, continued economy growth albeit at a slower rate. No recession. Surprise!
The real shock will be to dems should they win. Higher taxes, furthering of their socialist agenda and the world won't magically transform into the garden of eden they anticipate.
