Palin probably does have the ability to serve in Congress.
But quitting her Governorship was only the first of her electability problems; after she quit, everything she did made her look like she wanted to be a media star instead of a politician. She danced. She sang. She played newscaster. She made movies and TV shows.
She moved out of Alaska, came back, then moved out again. And came back again.
I'm pretty sure Palin is more popular down here than up in Alaska.
I think that Sarah could have rehabilitated herself if she had joined some important non-governmental organizations and committees, or something that showed she still had the urge to participate in state government in some unofficial way.
But she didn't.
So why is she so suddenly interested in it now? That's a question I'm sure that's on many minds in Alaska. It makes her look like a carpetbagger, come back because she's burned all her opportunities down in the lower 48.
Alaskans elect Alaskans who stick around and work for their state. The Murkowskis. Don Young.
Young was the longest-serving Representative in history because he stuck to being an Alaskan. Same with Lisa Murkowski- she ran as an independent and won! They didn't keep their seats by becoming famous in the lower 48.
And Palin won't be on anyone's ballot down here. She will have to win over a huge bunch of Alaskan voters who have 50 other choices they can choose from.
