burdell,

I don't doubt that for one minute but a lot of them are really off base if you check them out. (One I followed up appears to be about a cache of missing US currency found hidden away in a bunker---interesting stuff but off topic)

The bushman's mess in Iraq isn't going to end abruptly as some think. It's going to take a prolonged, carefully thought out and executed withdrawal. I think even someone like Obama himself is cognisant of that. He has changed his position on troop withdrawal several times.

I'm in agreement with mui's point that the US is fighting the war with debt. The US treasury isn't going to be swollen with cash once the war ends. It will be several years after the war ends that peacetime savings are achieved (my opinion-you are more than welcome to present an opposing arguement).

Again I don't see Obama as any more-or less capable of ending the war quickly than any of the other candidates. Any withdrawal of military forces is very detailed and complicated.

I have served in the military. I think I have an understanding of how things work (and sometimes don't work very well) in the military. Planning and logistics take time. Supplying a withdrawl is similar to supplying an invasion believe it or not.

A year and a half at the very least.
