man, i'm seeing stories like this every single week now

Quote:
Mark Penn, a Bill Clinton pollster, in today’s New York Times:

Quote:
These economic blows are just one element in a cascading set of problems all hitting at the same time. It combines the nuclear anxieties of the 1950s and ’60s with the inflation threat of the ’70s, the crime wave of the ’80s and ’90s and the tensions over illegal immigration in the 2000s and beyond. This electorate is not experiencing a malaise, as President Jimmy Carter was once apocryphally said to have proclaimed, but has instead formed into a deep national fissure ready to blow like a geyser in the next election if leadership does not move to relieve the pressure.
Americans think the economy is weak, inflation is effectively giving them a major pay cut, the border is being overrun, criminals are roaming unchecked, Covid policy is a mess, Vladimir Putin is more dangerous than ever before, and political correctness amounts to a national gag order. Any one of these things could be enough to cost Democrats the House; in the fall of 2014, you may recall, America was in a state of anxiety about mass illegal immigration and a threat from Ebola that turned out to recede quickly, and harshly punished the party in power. Republicans gained an astonishing nine Senate seats, and 13 in the House.

America today is facing real, undeniable problems, and most of them are strongly associated with the Democratic Party. The rout is coming, and Democrats are doing almost nothing to avoid absorbing painful punishment in November.

Democrats are not concerned at all about all the misery THEIR POLICIES are inflicting upon Americans.

They are only concerned about being re-elected and don't give a damn about the citizens. Perhaps if dems stopped initiating damaging, insane policies they would not have to worry so much about elections!

Democrats know that with ballot harvesting they don't have to worry about any election in the future.

So, what are Republicans going to do to stop inflation in this country if they win Congress in November? Will they issue free WIN buttons for everybody to wear? Whip Inflation Now!

Democrats initiate the policies they initiate because they believe, on the balance, more people are helped then hurt by such policies. Same for Republicans.

In either case, if the voters believe differently they'll vote the other party in, which is a clue for the losing party to reconsider its policies to better reflect the overall will of the electorate.

And spare me your constant conspiracy-laden tripe about "stolen election." The Republicans lost last time because the voters at that point believed the policies were more harmful than helpful. They may retake the Senate and House this time because the opposite has become true.

I disagree. Trump wasn't the most personable guy and constantly clashed with the media, who did everything possible to make sure he didn't win again.

It sure wasn't because of policies. Pre-covid this country was in the best shape it's ever been. It wasn't until demented Biden and the radical left took over that everything went down the drain.

Biden hasn't done one thing -- not on immigration, not on inflation, not on crime -- that has done anything for the American people, except give away billions of dollars to anyone that came asking.

Biden proves on a daily basis that he is incompetent and incapable.

Covid happened before the election. It is safe to say that some voters looked at what came out of the Trump Administration-policies-and didn’t like the result. Whether they were rational or the correct policies at the time or not, they looked and said ‘let’s try something else.’ I expect the same thing will happen this fall.

Republicans are not saying until after you vote for them in November.

"To know what is in the bill, you must first vote for the bill" ....remember that? Same shoe different foot.
