A survey conducted by BluePrint Polling and released Monday shows Abbott with a 19-point advantage over his Democratic rival among likely voters.

The survey asked, “In the race for Governor the two candidates are Republican Greg Abbott and Democrat Beto O’Rourke. If the election were today, which candidate would you support?”

Of those polled, 48.5% said they will vote for Abbott. Another 7% said they are leaning toward voting for the governor.

Meanwhile, 32.9% said they are definitely voting for O’Rourke, while another 4.3% said they are leaning toward voting for the Democrat. The remaining 7.2% said they are unsure.

The poll also asked about Texas’ gun laws. Respondents were queried, “When it comes to buying firearms here in Texas, do you think the laws should be more restrictive, less restrictive or are they about right as they are now?”

A majority of respondents, 61.6%, called for “More restrictive gun purchase laws,” while 7.2% called for “less restrictive” laws. Nearly one-third, 31.2%, said current laws are fine.

Democrats really thought Texans were going to be moved to relinquish their rights from taking advantage of terrible tragedies and pulling media stunts.

It's really difficult to take them seriously when so many prominent democrats supported and donated to bail funds to release the violent rioters that were responsible for 2B in damages, thousands of injuries, and 30 deaths.

I wonder how McConaughey would be doing against Abbot if he had decided to run.

Well, if McConaughey, would run as a true Democrat, not as a Progressive and lighten up on his anti gun talk, he could win, but is he willing to be a true Democrat and not some out of touch progressive liberal?

Beto should be doing backflips that he's only down 19 points.

The electricity market in Texas is a mess, with no end in sight. The state selling 20 year bonds to pay off natural gas suppliers will cost Teas electricity users millions. And we still don't have a reliable distribution channel.

The cover up of the tragedy in Uvalde will hide the cowardice and confusion among the law enforcement that was there. Kids and teachers are still dead. The grief will never end for that community. But the cover up last until shortly after election day/

The mortality rate among minority pregnant women is still awful.

Tax payers are spending billions a year to keep the National Guard away from their real jobs and families costing them billions. How many illegals have been stopped?

NG lines are still blowing up leaving plants off line for months.

YADA yada

And we are in a pizzlng contest over governor because gun owners think Beto 's gonna grab their guns. IDK how that could even happen. The logistics boggles the mind.

I'm not crazy about Beto. But nobody could be worse for Texas than more years of Abbott.

Abbott keeps running for POTUS oblivious to the fact that De Santis is gone kick his arse.

I argue not this year. Maybe some other years, but not this year.

Democrats will not do well in Texas elections this year. It won’t be about Beto’s desire to grab guns, because that’s never going to happen. It won’t be about abortion.

It WILL be about Inflation, Illegal Immigration and the War on Oil.
It will also be about TeamBiden’s War on the Border Patrol.

A Republican Hispanic woman just won the Congressional seat for District 34, which includes the Rio Grande Valley last night. First Republican to ever win that District, First Hispanic woman from Texas to go to Congress and First Mexican born woman to be elected to Congress. Her husband is a Border Patrol Agent. The top 3 employers in the Valley are the Federal Government (immigration workers), Oil and Gas and Municipal employees. Democrats are at War against 2 of those.

Nobody ever said Texas voters were smart. We just think we are.

Just look at the crew from the prison who let that convict escape to kill 4 kids and their grandfather. The convict being transferred had the keys to his handcuffs. A few days later a bus carrying prisoners crashed.

If Texas voters ever get their heads around that money that was made by gas companies off the backs of ratepayers...

Now Abbott wants to control bank policy. So it cost more for Texas municipalities to sell bonds.

But you are correct. When reading Next Door complaints about the cost of water, the people complaining have no clue about how the water gets to the house. They never heard of subsidence, but we all know about flooding. SMH. How well water consumed by 3 million people affects subsidence is a mystery.
