Oh man. And they were sooooo close to introducing a Socialist utopia.
Ah well, better luck next time Dems. We'll see ya in the 2030s if you manage to become viable again.
Quote:
Democrats are frustrated with Biden's inability to pass his agenda before a midterm that might flip congressional majorities back to Republicans, The New York Times reported from interviews with nearly 50 Democrats.
"Democrats are like, 'What the hell is going on?'" Jasmine Crockett, a Democrat Texas state representative, who is likely to head to Congress next year, told the Times. "Our country is completely falling apart. And so I think we're lacking in the excitement."
"To say our country was on the right track would flagrantly depart from reality," a Democratic National Committee member Steve Simeonidis of Miami told the Times.
Biden "should announce his intent not to seek reelection in '24 right after the midterms."
"The presidency is a monstrously taxing job and the stark reality is the president would be closer to 90 than 80 at the end of a second term, and that would be a major issue," two-time strategist for former President Barack Obama, David Axelrod told the Times.
"He looks his age and isn't as agile in front of a camera as he once was, and this has fed a narrative about competence," Axelrod added.
No Axe. What's "feeding the narrative about (in)competence" is the fact that the President is a senile buffoon, and everything he touches turns to excrement. He's got the Anti-Midas touch, and the crumbling of everything around us is stark evidence of that fact.
And then there's this delectable little nugget courtesy of roarin' Howard Dean:
Quote:
Even the younger Democrat candidates lack inspiration for long-time party establishment members.
"The generation after me is just a complete trash heap," Howard Dean, 73, a former Vermont governor and DNC chairman, told the Times.
Holy cow!!! So not only do Democrats now go on the record in what was once the paper of record (a long time ago, in a galaxy far far away) - admitting that their "President" isn't up for the job.
But they are also admitting there is no back up plan - the cavalry ain't coming!
Democrats are inflicting horrible economic pain and cultural malaise on this country; but fortunately that very calamity is also turning out to be their achilles' heel.

Nobody thinks Biden will run again.
He's a default placeholder. For some reason, the DNC was unable to field a candidate the public wanted, and as the time came closer and there was no one suited still in the race, he was the one standing there holding the bag.
It's like a game of hot potato. When the timer went off, it was Biden holding the spud.

Sanders was pretty popular among the people. Wasn't he leading up until Biden said he was running ?

You forgot to address the part of the article where two different Democrats said the country was falling apart on Biden's watch. "Placeholder" wasn't mentioned.

Ya know, I can't remember exactly the timing of the process. As much as everyone personally likes Bernie, he's not presidential. He's like the old guy at work that people all kind of enjoy.
Suddenly, the crowded field held only a few, and of those, Biden was the least objectionable.

I'm talking about how he was chosen to oppose Trump in 2020.
