Whiney, bitter, self-contradictory...

Hillary will probably return to a mediocre role in the Senate when all is said and done. She hasn't won any allies there.

She voted for the war.

She sits on the senate armed services committee and approves every Bush spending measure that comes before them. She's a conduit of taxpayer money to the military-industrial complex. There's no way she'd end the war in Iraq until she and her hubbie had been able to collect big kickbacks from the contractors who are making huge piles of money from your taxes.

Bill did not do her any favors. Most people started hating her because she let him publicly humiliate her and stayed with him.

This is classic sexism. A woman does everything that is expected of her and is hated and held back because she's a woman when she steps out as an independent person....

I don't know how she stayed with Bill for all those years. Monica wasn't the first... But, you've got to commend her for her tenacity, her ability to forgive and her ability for undying commitment - regardless of the personal cost to her.

These really are qualities we need from our President.
What a great post! She has proven all those qualities you mentioned: tenacity, ability to forgive, undying commitment. I have no doubts she could lead in a time of crisis.

I disagree with this.

Remember when all the Wall Street scandals started happening and people tried to blame it on Bill instead of on Bush? Someone in the old Clinton administration said "The last thing the Clinton's were about was money. It was never about money for them."

Unlike Bush/Cheney, I don't believe the Clinton's expected to personally profit from running the country. They may have afterwards with book deals and speeches, but I don't for one minute think they are into graft.

No, I don't recall that.

I'm cynical, but I'd be very pleased if you were correct on this count. But how else can Hillary's steadfast refusal to renounce her war vote be explained?

Her first love has always been politics, not money.

She doesnt renounce her vote for the war because she believed the President re WMDs, etc. By not renouncing her vote she's standing by the choice she made.
