Sabato: GOP Could Win Its Biggest Congressional Majority Since the Depression

Quote:
Sabato looked at all the factors affecting this year’s midterm election — redistricting, Biden’s unpopularity, GOP messaging — and has concluded that the Republican battle cry for 2022 should be “Drive for 35” — winning a net of 35 seats would give the GOP 248 seats in the next Congress. It would be the largest majority the Republicans have held since the Great Depression.

If you think the the GOP aren't capable of gaining 35 seats this year, then I don't know what to tell you.

I'd say they're capable of 45.

We shall know soon enough.

Ilhan Omar Challenger Who Came Shockingly Close to Defeating Her Has a Message for the Progressive

Quote:
Minneapolis city councilman Don Samuels has a message for Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), who barely defeated him in Tuesday’s primary election.

“To come this close means that we have our finger on the pulse of the exhausted majority,” Samuels told a crowd of his supporters. “We know that America wants change.”

“My only hope is that my opponent will have learned a lesson from this,” Samuels said about the tighter-than-expected race. “You cannot give poor constituent service, put your own dreams above the dreams and visions and desires of your community, hold scant and scarce town-hall meetings, not be available to the press that serves your community, and get reelected easily.”

I wouldn't be surprised to learn the same happened in 2022.

Your post said the largest majority since WWII, not the GOP's largest majority since WWII. I'm not expecting the GOP to pick up 35 seats either (though I certainly think the GOP will take the House)
