Could the GOP actually lose the house this year? GOP candidates scrubbing their websites of extreme abortion views. I just saw an attack ad when I was at the gym last night showed Blake Masters wants to put doctors in prison, and ban birth control. He scrubbed his website of all his extremism now he says he is good with 12 week abortions.

How is it possible a democrat won in Alaska.

The November election will have 4 candidates; Penolta, Palin, Begich and Sweeney.
Sweeney is dropping out, so it will likely be Libertarian Chris Bye who finished 5th in the Primary as the 4th

Republicans were strongly expected to win the Special Election and the General Election. Following the results of the Special, the General predictions have changed. It will be the same three main candidates in November with Peltola, Palin and Begich (a 4th might be on the ballot)

While it is certainly not a good look for the Republican Party to lose in Alaska, the results are not all doom and gloom.

Republican candidates drew about 58% of the vote, in the first round of ranked choice voting. For comparison, in the 2020 election, President Trump received 52.83% of the vote, and Representative Young received 54.4% of the vote. Republicans improved their standing, when compared to just two years ago.

If not for ranked choice voting, the Republicans would have won this race...

Student loan "relief" and spending package after spending package is not "the middle".

If not for ranked choice voting, the Republicans would have won this race, handedly...
If that was the case you would have seen it translate in Ranked Choice Voting.

A result from ranked-choice voting is not indicative of nationwide results, given that the vast majority of states do not utilize the system.

Wishful thinking. This is Alaska, not a left wing socialist state:

First Round:

Peltola (D) 74,496 Palin (R) 58,149 Begich (R) 52,320 = 110,460 Republican votes to 74,496 Democrat.

Now the Maximum Round is weird. I will wait for the general.

This was the General for the Special Election. The General in November will have the same rules.
