I guess I'm confused I don't see the Clintons uniting anyone including their own party. If fact they seem to do the opposite.

They expressed confidence that the former president would rise above the perceived slights and grudges of a hard-fought campaign and work flat out for an Obama victory in November’s presidential election.

“If anybody can put their arms around the party and say we need to be together, it is Bill Clinton,” a senior Obama aide said.




So, the Obama campaign thinks it's Bill Clinton's job to unite the party, which doesn't make sense to me since Obama is supposed to be the Unity candidate.

Well mabe it like a Mother who gives a little child a job just to keep them busy. If Bill is busy perhaps he will shut up.

LOL, I think they're kissing up to Bill. It's the old "tell him he's important, he's still a necessary part of the game" ploy.

Betcha they had to grit their teeth and smile while saying it, too. Ahhh, politics!
