As a sitting governor.

The problem with Crist is that he flips flops so much you don't know what he stands for. It seems all he wants to do is win as a Republican, Independent or Democrat. He was for McCain and his policies then he switched to Obama's policies. The guy is all over the place.
Rubio was the former Speaker of the Florida House. You can be critical of Crist for losing his lead, dropping out and leaving the party, but Rubio was far from an unknown.

I see Crist more as an opportunist than anything and not the best candidate to take on Desantis. Oh well.

Rubio in 2010 wasn't at the same level of a sitting governor. Rubio was speaker of the Florida house for 2 years, 2006 to 2008 and left to be a professor at the university. My point was that as a sitting first and only term governor, Crist wasn't popular. His party didn't support him and the reason he left.

I don't think he was happy by just being a rep. He wants to be governor or U.S. Senator because that's where the power dealing is and use that go run for President. The problem is the voters already know him out and he will never be governor or senator.

His problem was when he was governor from 2006 to 2010. He made lots of people in the party and Democrats upset. He flip flopped a lot and tried to govern Florida like Europe. He is a RINO, he just want power.

He is going to lose 3 statewide elections in a row. Time to move to the private sector after the mid-terms.

Maybe in political circles. But how many people even know who the speaker of their state house is?

Real Clear Politics average of polls here on 9/25 shows DeSantis ahead of Crist by +4.8 points. The poll that OP mentions is probably an outlier.

https://www.realclearpolitics.com/ep...rist-7324.html

This election cycle is a lot like the 2016 Presidential where Trump won. Polls have a hard time capturing the true picture when things are changing rapidly. Will DeSantis' stunt of shipping migrants to "liberal" cities help him or hurt him overall? Will overturning Roe bring women voters to the polls in an unexpected backlash?

These factors will likely make the Florida election closer that the current polls show us. Even considering that, Crist appears to be a long shot. This is FLORIDA folks, not Georgia.

Well speaking of Rubio, he is now in a dead heat with Val Demings in what should have been a slam dunk for him.

She could well bring the votes that Crist needs to defeat DeSantis.

Val has a 7% lead on Rubio with women voters.

I doubt if he's laughing about that.
