Liz Cheney said that if Donald Trump is the GOP’s 2024 presidential nominee, she will leave the Republican Party. Furthermore, she promised to campaign for Democrats running against Republican candidates who are election deniers. She delivered the news at the Texas Tribune Festival in Austin on Saturday.
Quote:
Cheney, who lost the Republican primary in Wyoming, said that doing everything in her power to prevent Trump from being the nominee in 2024 includes a possible run for the nomination herself. She still considers herself a Republican and supports conservative policy. She will continue as co-chair of the January 6 committee until she leaves Congress in January. Liz Cheney voted for Trump’s policies well over 90% of the time but she broke away from him after the January 6 riot on Capitol Hill. Since then she has been obsessed with keeping Trump from running for president again. Though chairman Bennie Thompson (D-MS) indicated that the committee hearing this week will be the last one, Cheney said she expects more. She also indicated that she doesn’t really want Republicans to take back the majority in the House. When Republicans do take back the House in November, she doesn’t think Kevin McCarthy should be the Speaker of the House.

Oh, Liz. You really aren't too bright. The only thing your statement does is push people towards Trump. Maybe she really is a closet Trumper.

So, add this to the list of "Pros" for voting for Trump in the GOP primary.

The people of her state fired her. Nobody wants her. Not Republicans and Democrats less.

The establishment morons never learn. It won't work.

I'm amazed at how people like Dizzy Lizzy, her father, McCain, and Romney can cozy up to the same far left wing lunatics who demonized them as fascists, racists, bigots, etc. when they were running against Democrats.

I mean, how little self-awareness and self-respect do you have to have in order to shill for the same people who were personally smearing you?

Every time I see her on TV or in print she looks so morose and disappointed, almost suicidal. I don't think politics suits her very well.
Maybe trying to follow in daddy's footsteps was a mistake.

The thing that she said yesterday that finally makes the opinion that Trumpers have of her founded rather than unfounded is that she was asked if she would campaign for Democrats and she said yes, and added something along the lines of whatever helps keep Trump out of the Oval. She flushed all of her conservative bona fides down the toilet with that answer, crossing a line that she wouldn’t have if her conservatism meant more to her than her ‘anti-Trump-ism’.

Trump does have a knack for forcing people to show their true colors!

Trump is not on ballot but she will campaign for Democrats in 2022. That's on top of joining a very partisan Democrat kangaroo court and attack her base. It shows she was always a hack. This is an example how TDS ruined a political career given to her on a silver platter by being the daughter of Dick Cheney.
