Biden has demanded (twice) that retailers lower their prices at the pump.

Clearly HE believes he has that control, so I say the buck stops with him.

Anyone who votes for a democrat deserves what is coming for them. They are destroying America and are could care less about citizens and the environment - it's all a cover as the ponzi debt system implodes because their socialistic policies have failed. The people and policies the dems root for are found in the countries currently imploding or waging a pretend war to cover their inept leadership.

At the start of summer and with mid-term election just months away the Biden Admin had to get the price of gas under control A gallon of regular in Mesa, Az dropped $1.50. Went from $5.50 to $4. (The price had been under $2 per gallon in 2019.)

But then... for what I'm sure are a variety of reasons... gas has suddenly jumped to back over the $5 dollar mark.

So what are voters now to think?

My guess is many will feel the price of gas is only going to get worse after Nov. That a drop in gas price during the summer was (as another poster pointed out...) nothing but a head fake and are back to wanting Republicans to control inflation.

There was an interesting piece in the WaPo the other day.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/busin...rant-capitals/
Places with more chain restaurants voted for DJ much more often than places that voted for Joe. And places that have more chains are also places where commuting takes place much more often by car.
Example: 93.8% of MS workers drive to work. 75.3% of MA workers drive to work

(there are exceptions: Alaska is the 8th least car dependent state/territory, PR is 5th most car dependent, MI is 15th most car dependent. Correlation does not equal causation, etc)

So, assuming all this is correct, high gas prices affect R voters more than D voters. Gas prices affect conservative independents than liberal independents.

Democracy and women's rights are the key issues I believe voters will consider as they cast their ballots.

Shall I vote for an election denier conspiracist/coward too afraid to condemn the Big Lie or a candidate who supports the rule of law and democracy?

Shall I vote for a forced birther or a candidate who supports laws protecting women's reproductive rights?

Not too difficult of a decision for the Americans I know, who happen to live all across this country.

Laughable post, from the first word to the last. The scary part about it is that there are millions of college students who think just like you do.

Fortunately for the country, you're outnumbered by people who work for a living and care about actual issues and not Democrat propaganda like "women will be forced to give birth!" and "our DeMoCraCy is at STAKE!!!"

Nothing laughable or mockable about democracy and women's rights, dear.

However, you are correct that the young people of today full well realize the MAGA GOP poses a clear & present threat to democracy in the United States, and they absolutely understand which political party has been at the forefront of a very vocal and well documented effort to reduce women to second class citizenry.

Fortunately for the country these young men and women are joined by myriad fact driven folks of all ages between their college set and my septuagenarian and above demographic.

Peace.

From CNN no less:

...But it’s also possible that abortion is fading as an issue. It ranked seventh when compared to other issues when Americans were asked to name issues that were extremely or very important to them in a recent Monmouth University poll.

Gallup polling showed 8% of Americans named abortion as the nation’s most important problem in July. That was the highest since Gallup began tracking abortion as an important problem in 1984. In their most recent poll, only 4% said abortion was the most important problem. Additionally, the percentage of Americans who listed the judicial system/courts/laws as the most important problem dropped from 5% in July to 2% now.

We see this in Google searches as well. The number of Google searches for abortion in September was basically tied with the number of searches in April, before the May leak of the Supreme Court decision overturning Roe. Searches in September were one-third of the level they were in May. They’re one-fifth of the level they were in June, when Roe was overturned. They’re less than half what they were in July.

This could be very bad news for Democrats. Polls show Democrats are more trusted than Republicans on abortion by double-digits. Republicans are more trusted by double-digits on the issues of inflation and the economy, which Americans were far more likely to say was important to them in the Monmouth poll.

Another issue that ranked high in the Monmouth poll was crime. An issue Republicans have been running on. Polling indicates a double-digit advantage of them on crime.

Notably, abortion searches outnumbered crime searches on Google in May, June and July. Today, crime searches outnumber abortion by greater than two-to-one.

If that holds come November, Republicans may have no problem reaching that 230 House seat average they have when they hold the advantage on who Americans think can better handle the issue that is most important to them.

Biden is only a clown because you can't admit he's right and therefore have nothing to say to dispute him.
