From what I have seen, it does appear that Dr. Oz 'won' the debate. Yet, will it move the needle?
We must recall that these Senate races are only important for having a live body in the Senate; enough live bodies for R or D to hold a majority.
Fetterman: If elected, he will vote the way he is told by the Democrat Senate leader. He will not be expected to voice policy.
Same for Mr. Walker: if he wins, Mitch McConnell will tell him to keep his mouth shut and vote the way he is told.
If Fetterman wins, and dies or resigns, then the Democrat Governor will handpick his replacement, to serve out the remainder of the six year Senate term. Same with Walker: if he has to resign, another R will be put into his place.
If enough people in Pennsylvania think that having the Senate controlled by the Republicans would be bad, they will vote Fetterman. Alabama, the same concerning Walker.
Indeed, if one thinks about it, there are rather few Senators, on either side, that actual create policy. The rest are spear carriers.
Fetterman was unresponsive at times and hesitated, but it's the substance of the debate and the issues. I don't value debates too much, we already know where each stands on the primary issues.

Indeed, and ditto with the House. If more of the public were aware of how the actual process plays out, they'd have even less confidence in the process—and rightly so. Anybody who still believes that the government is "of, by, and for The People" is seriously deluded. And people are in fact seriously deluded, as evidenced by low Congressional (as a body) approval ratings but high incumbency retention ratings.
Government is first and foremost a giant gun, and because everyone knows deep down how corrupt it is, they jockey for position to be on the team that allows them to vicariously hold the gun. Eventually it becomes as deranged as we're seeing now, if not worse (and I suspect it will get much worse). This is no way for people to live and operate, let alone maintain a cohesive polity into the future.

True, and for the moment, Mitch wants a majority and doesn't need more policymakers. However, the concern for Mitch with Walker is Walker's profile, inexperienced, some scandals in there, and that of being a Trump acolyte. At some point, MAGA and the Far Right will come after Mitch and oppose him and Mitch can't just tell them to keep their mouth shut. As of now, the Far Right doesn't have the numbers. For Mitch, he had a good run and got his Supreme Court, and might just retire when he starts losing influence.
While the Dem Establishment wants a majority on their side, Fetterman would be like a Bernie Sanders, occasionally vocal, delaying Dem legislation from moving forward, ultimately causing issue with Dems and their neoliberal ways, including corporate welfare and things they like to do such as Congressional stock trading.
I'm not sure about Oz. He is friends with Trump, got his endorsement, but says he is moderate Republican. I'm not sure if that means when a Dem President has power and has to appoint a judge, Oz will at times join the Democrats and support the nomination of leftist judge like Susan Collins does. One also can't just go from being pally with Oprah and Michelle Obama, to a social conservative in such a short time.
Oz is running anywhere from -130 to -170 as the favorite. Since last night, his odds are trending hard as the favorite.
Take away early voting where the voter was ignorant of Fetterman's cognitive impairment, and the percent of voting that goes to either party by reflex/tradition, and last night sealed Fetterman's defeat.
Gambling sites right now have Republicans as favorites in 10 of 16 races where it isn't a straight lock. Not margin of error favorites either...solid betting odds favorites.

Will Fetterman win - who knows but I felt sorry for the man as he had a hard time keeping up. Imagine him in Congress trying to understand what the 2 sides are saying. Like Biden - this gentleman should retire from politics. The stress just isn't worth it and will make things worse. My husband had a stroke 19 yrs ago - the 1st thing his employer did was put him in a position where he wouldn't endure the stress he was under with his previous job. As time goes on his cognitive ability has suffered and the same will happen to Fetterman.
