Some states such as Washington have had mail in voting for a long time. In Nevada we now have mail in voting and I love it. You can still vote in person if you want to. As a society we should want people to have more times to vote to encourage more people to participate.
More participation become meaningless if the early voter doesn't have all the information the later voters do. It's not all about convenience. Not ordering a pizza when voting.

If we would only make election day a national holiday, we wouldn't have to worry about early voting.
But since the US doesn't like giving people the day off to do anything, then you have to accept early voting.
There are a huge number of people who have to work whether it's a holiday or not. For example, refineries and chemical plants are fully staffed 24/7, since they don't just shut them down for a holiday.
There's nothing wrong with early voting. If something happens to make you change your already submitted vote, too bad, you should have waited.
No, early voting should not begin until mid-October. Preferably, the early voting period should only be the week before Election Day. The fact that any voting took place before at least one debate is a disgrace!
I suppose that depends on how much one values or not any of the debates.
Personally, I never bother with any of them for any election. If the vote is not already decided, I go to their web site and they have 5 minutes to convince or other wise.
For me, the debates show, at best, how much of a pompous ash they all are.
Finally, to borrow from the workplace, you don't base someone's eval all on how they performed last week and I suppose it is fair to say that of politicians.
