In our state all voting is by mail and has been for about 10 years now. Counties like ours often put out large deposit boxes in places like libraries and city halls, for people to drop off their ballots. With the current distrust and delays at the USPS most people drop them off. I dropped ours on Tuesday, and there were about 4 other cars with people hopping out to deposit theirs at that same time. In our exurban city of 65,000 the crime rate is still among the lowest in the state, but has gotten worse in the last three years. Before that it was pretty much none. Now we have mail theft, porch pirates, electric bike theft, catalytic converter and gas theft. In 2020 75% of our voters went for Biden, it will be interesting to see what happens next week in the congressional/senate races. More and more people are talking about the lack of law enforcement and lenient courts. If there is not an upset, it will at least be very close.

I personally don't think it should be allowed (or legal) to release this kind of data until after the polls have closed on election day. What purpose does it really serve to release this info? To help sway uncast votes? To me, this smacks of tampering.

Let the people decided on who to vote without being potentially swayed by their county election office.

It's not the voting results, just a breakdown of ballots returned by registered party. The state tracks it and I haven't seen it reported anywhere. Back in 2020 I found it on my own so I searched for it again this year.
