Vets for Freedom is releasing a second ad, featuring Iraq war veteran and Vets for Freedom member, Specialist Kate Norley. Kate, who served 16 months on the front lines as a combat medic, asks Senator Obama two simple, but powerful, questions:
Senator Obama, when will you finally decide to go back to Iraq, to see the progress first hand?
And when will you finally decide to meet one-on-one, unconditionally, with General Petraeus?

Sergeant Anderson was one of the 12 veterans denied a meeting with Senator Obama. And like his fellow veterans, Sergeant Anderson would like to ask Senator Obama a few questions: Why hasn't he met with General Petraeus? And why won't he visit Iraq? And why would Senator Obama rather talk about meeting—unconditionally—with Iran, instead of meeting with veterans and commanders? America deserves to know.

Ouch!!
Yeah, Obama will meet with dictators, terrorists and all the evil ones, but WILL NOT go to Iraq to see first hand the wonderful progress.
He has not meet with Gen Patraeus even once, I believe.

Has Obama stated he WILL NOT go to Iraq?
I was not aware of this, please share the link where you got this info. There is no such statement in the link above.

Ummm... general petraeus works for the president... why would you go to a country to establish friendly diplomatic relations and seek someone that will one day work for you... that's like saying the CEO of Walmart should go talk to the general manager in Seattle before going over to China to establish business there... huh? Last time I check, the general follows the president orders and NOT the other way around...

Obama thinks he can talk his way out of any situation, and I'm not too sure that will fly with the dictators of the world.

Doesn't Obama the Empty Suit want to find out first hand the progress that has been made in Iraq?
Of course, even if he went, and even if he saw the progress and success, does anybody believe that he would revise his insistence that the troops be pulled out immediately?
Nope. He is stuck with that position - and it will be hilarious and tragic in the fall when he still insists his way is the way to go - even in the face of the evidence that says his opposition to the surge WAS WRONG.

This guy really is shaping up to be as much of, if not more of, a doofus than Bush is.
I really didn't think that was possible.

Great point. Information will be provided in a neat little package for whomever visits, McCain or Obama. They will go on safed guided tour in the greenzone and meet with prescreened officers.
It's a police occupation, not a war. Commanders can only really can go with basic trends such as casualties, weapons seizures, and intel. This isn't WWII, or even Vietnam. I'm sure some great things are going on over there. However, I keep hearing about OUR money and guns disappearing over there all of the time too.
This topic is kinda silly anyway. Like another poster said, Obama never said he wouldn't visit with commanders.

After thinking about it, I think Obama should go visit Iraq with McCain. Someone needs to set McCain straight about the differences between Shiite and Sunni.
