A similar thread had such a trollish title that I decided to start a fresh, more objective thread on the subject.

It's the time of year when magazines love to print all kinds of lists. Here is Time Magazine's list of the top 10 campaign gaffes this year. Note that the editors made a point of including every candidate, to keep the list balanced.

Time has its list of top 'campaign gaffes' in 2007; any additions? - On Politics - USATODAY.com

The biggest blunder, #1 on the list, comes from Republican Rudy Giuliani, not any of the current candidates.

McCain comes in at #4: Republican Sen. John McCain singing "bomb, bomb, bomb ... bomb, bomb Iran."

#5 is Democrat John Edwards' $400 haircuts.

Hillary Clinton comes in at #8 for saying she wants to "take those (oil company) profits and ... put them into a strategic energy fund."

#9 is Barack Obama referring to Clinton as "Hillary Clinton, D-Punjab," in a jab at her work on behalf of Indian-Americans.

The article notes that the editors had a hard time cutting the list down to 10. Clinton's handling of questions about whether illegal immigrants should be given driver's licenses almost made the list. McCain's handling of a question from a supporter about how Republicans can defeat "the b*tch," was also a top contender.

I'm glad to see someone else actually read the whole list

Basically, every candidate screwed up at one point in the campaign, although I have to say the "Bomb, Bomb, Bomb, Iran" clip is just bizarre!

and this one, hah!

• Romney answering a question about whether any of his sons had been in the military with a response that said they were serving the nation by helping him run for the White House.

Thank you, that's much better. I see, from an objective point of view, that McCain's gaffe is much higher on the list (#4 as opposed to #9)than Obama's. I wonder why the other thread didn't mention that fact?

I thought it was very telling when the poster of the other thread didn't give a link so people could read the list for themselves.

Personally, I always thought McCain's b*tch comment about Hillary should have been the #1 choice. But I suppose it isn't funny enough.

My favorite line - "Small varmints, if you will."
