No.

My mother admired Fidel Castro and Che Guevara, she thinks that socialism is a great idea and would like to see it practiced in America.

I studied sociology in college, which included Marxist lectures as part of my studies.

I am neither a socialist or a communist. My ideas have been shaped by many things in my life, like Barack Obama, I was also raised in part by my grandparents, who were very conservative and religious and they're ideas have influenced me as much as my mother. If anything, her somewhat radical ideas have made me even more aware that there are many ways of thinking and many negative consequences to idealogies that seem harmless in principle but can lead to very dangerous outcomes.

America will become socialist by 2012. China, Saudi Arabia, Venezuela, Russia, Libya and Nigeria will have a controlling interest by then at the current rate of acquisition.

Gosh! If Obama was Frank Davis's child, that would make him my brother from another mother. Perhaps a DNA test is in order, because I am Davis's son. Is there any evidence of this, or is it more disinformation? See Barack Obama | Mark Davis's Blog

The more I read of forums like this, the more I am saddened by the overwhelming myopia that seems to blanket middle America. 'Socialism'? Most of the industrialized nations of the world are 'Socialist' and doing quite well with education, housing, medical, child care, etc, etc. I wish the last year of high school in the U.S. would be a passport and a year of world travel.
A lot of Americans seem to have been brainwashed by Baptists.

I would LOVE to see an intelligent black man make it to the WH, the trouble is, we don't have one running.
Hold a brother down, you are kidding, right??

Exactly. You know, I don't know why I'm surprised. Obama is the first decent Presidential Candidate we've had in years. Of course the right-wingers are going to throw every unfounded piece of garbage at him in the desperate hope that maybe something will stick.

WHY can't you people lift up your own candidate and talk about McCain's strengths instead of trying to rip Obama down? Because you have nothing positive to say except "he was a POW!"? Hmm.

Stuart Levine testified that Senator Obama and his wife were guests at Tony Rezko’s house at a party honoring Iraqi-born British billionaire Nadhmi Auchi in early April 2004, according to press reports. This was the second event attended by Obama where Auchi, convicted of fraud in Europe, was the guest of honor. Earlier that month on April 3, Obama met with a group of “Middle East bankers” including Auchi at a reception sponsored by Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich.

Barack Obama has joined forces with a white socialist he calls a "good friend" — the Rev. Jim Wallis, founder of "Sojourners." He too believes in "liberation theology," sans the black nationalism. In fact, Wallis is the white version of Jeremiah Wright, sans the black rage.
