If he was taken out of context, then why did McCain denounce him?
McCain did not denounce him, he acknowledged that the statement was inappropriate, and it should not be part of the political discourse. He denounced his words.
McCain is a man of integrity, he does not throw his friends under the bus for political gain, unlike Obama, the self acclaimed change and hope candidate.
No they didn't in all fairness they said they felt another attack favored him. That is an opinion that just may be shared within informed circles. They are not hoping for. I posted this same thought several days ago.

Isn't that what Obama's campaign did? But you accused Obama's people of taking the guy out of context.Unless, you are saying it's only okay for republicans to denounce what this guy said.
It is a very inappropriate thing to say, but was he asked the question? It was not stated in the article. If he was asked the question, why did the journalist think it was a good question to ask? Was he expecting a liberal outrage to the answer?
The media have not been objective this election cycle, in fact, I don't think they have ever been objective, so it is important to question their motive behind the questions they ask.
Yes, the question was asked of a McCain advisor and we have no way of knowing HOW the question was worded since this was not a video taped interview. The advisor does not recall giving that answer which is suspect, but for all we know the question was spun to elicit a specific response. Some reporters are very adept.
Still, a very stupid remark if he actually did make it and I'm glad McCain quickly denounced it.
Glad to see the defamatory, inflammatory, obnoxious, unsubstantiated talking points are still at work here. You folks just never give up, do you?
It was probably all planned ahead. Senior advisor takes one for the team, gets it out in the media about "watch out for another 9/11" with all the fear mongering, McCain then denounces and comes out ahead as the principled candidate.
(Except it is true, nudge nudge, wink wink.)
