The President of Russia has much more in common with Bush, McCain, Cheney etc than Obama. If someone like Obama appeared in Russia he would meet the same fate as other who don't share the W/Putin extreme form of government.

Showing once again you know nothing of Russia's current leadership and his puppetmaster, Putin.

Actually McCarthy didn't have to look for communists hiding under the bed. All he had to do was consult lists of security risks compiled by various executive agencies, like the State Department. The whole purpose of his investigation was to ask the heads of these agencies why the security risks were still on the public payroll years after they had been identified either by the FBI or internal security personnel. For that he made a lot of enemies both inside government and outside--particularly among the left-leaning media and academe. These enemies eventually brought him down and destroyed his reputation. But KGB files accessed after the fall of the Soviet empire confirmed much of what McCarthy had said. If this subect interests you you may want to read Blacklisted by History by M. Stanton Evans, an experienced newsman.

That's a creative take on it.

That's the fact. McCarthy's reputation has, over time, been conflated with the doings of the House UnAmerican Activities Committee (HUAC) which had a broader mandate than McCarthy in ferreting out communists and communist sympathizers, not only in government positions, but also in strategic industries. By the way, you mind find it interesting that Robert Kennedy served for a time on McCarthy's staff. and that McCarthy was very close to the Kennedys.

Communists in the Democrat party these days and big liberal socialist love to hate McCarthy. Yet like you mentioned they ignore the facts around what he was saying was true. Just think of all the communist we must now have in the government. I know we have some because I see the laws and polices we write in congress.

As a member of TURN I can tell you Obama was invited but because of the oppressive political climate in this country he will not be attending such events until after the election. I will share that I am employed by TURN to post in this forum so I have some insights into the broader organization. I only know those who are members of my immediate unit of eight. I do however know there are other units of eight like mine.

ACORN-Another Radical Communist supported group tied to Barack Obama

Inside Obama’s Acorn
By their fruits ye shall know them.

By Stanley Kurtz

. . . Obama has had an intimate and long-term association with the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (Acorn), the largest radical group in America. If I told you Obama had close ties with MoveOn.org or Code Pink, you’d know what I was talking about. Acorn is at least as radical as these better-known groups, arguably more so. Yet because Acorn works locally, in carefully selected urban areas, its national profile is lower. Acorn likes it that way. And so, I’d wager, does Barack
Obama.
