Swing States poll: Romney and Obama tied; Gingrich trails

The poll was conducted in CO, FL, IA, MI, OH, PA, NV, NH, NM, NC, VA, and WI - a few of which most of us would agree are very much Democratic-leaning (MI, PA, and WI).

In the same poll, Obama led Newt by 14 points.

All this poll tells us is who the main street media want republicans to vote for: Romney. They think we will vote for the guy THEY say is most likely to beat Obama.

That looks really positive.

Do they list the individual state results anywhere or is it an average of all the states?

Romney's pretty close in states he should be leading outside the margin of error, such as VA and NC. OH too. If he can't get out of the MoE in OH, with Obama as unpopular as he is there, that doesn't speak well to Romney's electability.

Obama is more formidable than one might think. Every other candidate is doing terrible in all polls against Obama with the notable exception of Ron Paul. He's got something of a rock star cult of personality going for him. It truly makes no sense. He's done a terrible job as President. But people love him anyways. And he has accomplished a number of things that everyone agrees are good, such as killing Osama bin Ladin.

Considering how bad the other GOP candidates poll head to head against Mr O, it's remarkable that Romney polls so well against him.

It's funny that Ron Paul and Mitt Romney -- guys that the Repugs don't want, are WAY BETTER than Gingrinch and Santorum in head to head polling. They are not what the party wants, but they are two different options that America will actually vote for. Two very different flavors too.

"The survey of 737 registered voters, taken Tuesday through Saturday, has a margin of error of +/- 5 percentage points."

That comes out to only about 61 people per state were polled. There is no way to get an even close to accurate picture of the voters with that small of a number asked.

A more accurate source and to get a better picture is to see how the national polls are looking: http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epo...bama-1171.html

Since Huntsman dropped, Obama's numbers have fired up quite a bit.
