A trusted friend of mine forwarded this e-mail to me that he just received. As some of you may know, I am an Obama supporter. I thus find it very troubling, but have no other comment at this time. (I have Xd the soldier's name and unit.)

Yeah, that seems pretty suspect. Reminds me of those emails, "This happened to a friend of mine"

But people are still gullible as hell.

Gee, and the video of him shaking soldiers hands, playing B-ball with the soldiers, having a meal with the soldiers, talking to the soldiers were all lies and fabrications huh?

Yeledaf, this is a bogus email. It's been floating round all over the internet, including on C-D, the last few days. Please read this entire page below, down to the video from the Department of Defense and the snapshots soldiers took of Obama there.

snopes.com: Barack Obama in Afghanistan

We cant link within City-Data, but it's also reproduced and discussed on page 3 of "Obama, Germans good enough but not the TROOPS?" And several other places, cant think of them right now.

Thank you for the information. I was unaware that this was a hoax.

You may be sure I'm going to give my friend a good talking-to.

It's not his fault. And he's not the only one, it's all over City-Data and the whole internet, and there'll be hundreds of thousands who never do get the heads-up. Ah modern problems
