That crossed my mind too, but the only way I would see out of that is divorce, and that probably wouldn't go well in the public eye.

Geez, the poor woman has a terminal illness, and we are supposed to feel sorry for him because he couldn't get it when he wanted it??? Get some dirty movies or magazines if you have to, but there is NO EXCUSE for cheating on your wife, and possibly fathering a love child, while your wife battles cancer. OK, we likely all agree that it was an unfortunate decision to enter an affair due to mere sexual need but, keep in mind, that John Edwards is akin to a celebrity & is probably solicited by woman all over the nation. Again, it is no excuse but rather the reality for some men that they seek relations with other women.
Looks like someone's breaking the law by admitting this too.

As much as I despise his politics, this is a personal issue between him and his wife, given that he's not a candidate for office. If he ran, then it would speak to his credibility, which I never place much stock in, but for now this is personal.
Who cares? This ranks up there with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie and their million kids or Brittney Spears and her drunken stupors.
