Stanley Kurtz on Barack Obama, Bill Ayers & Chicago Annenberg Challenge on National Review Online

Oh boy. A very good article detailing the potential coverup - by Ayers and possibly by Obama.

Quote:
Unfortunately, I don’t yet have access to the documents. The Special Collections section of the Richard J. Daley Library agreed to let me read them, but just before I boarded my flight to Chicago, the top library officials mysteriously intervened to bar access. Circumstances strongly suggest the likelihood that Bill Ayers himself may have played a pivotal role in this denial. Ayers has long taught at UIC, where the Chicago Annenberg Challenge offices were housed, rent-free. Ayers likely arranged for the files of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge to be housed in the UIC library, and may well have been consulted during my unsuccessful struggle to gain access to the documents. Let me, then, explain in greater detail what the Chicago Annenberg Challenge (CAC) records are, and how I have been blocked from seeing them
THIS is not good. Obama is trying desperately to hide his dubious past.

But his past will still surface.

Barack Hussein Obama might be trying to hide his past, but it will still surface.

What would you expect from a loony right wing site like national review?

It is an interesting and disturbing story about the stonewalling by the UIC library. Why? Who? I look forward to more on this. Can you imagine if they release the papers only after November 4?!

That said,

"With a writ to aid Chicago’s public schools, the Annenberg challenge played a deeply political role in Chicago’s education wars, and as Annenberg board chairman, Obama clearly aligned himself with Ayers’s radical views on education issues."

That's a credibility-destroying sentence right there. He should calm down and rewrite.

These records could give great insight into the ONLY executive position obama has ever held. The foundation was a great failure and didn't accomplish what it set out to do, which was to improve Chicago area schools.

I find this extremely disturbing, but not surprising, that Obama/Ayers are trying to keep this information from getting out.

The Associated Press: University won't open Obama-related records now (broken link)

Quote:
The Obama campaign said the senator does not have control over these records or the ability to release them, adding that it has made many documents related to Obama's life available to the public and that "we are pleased the university is pursuing an agreement that would make these records publicly available."
Yeah, I bet you are pleased.

Nice to see the MSM minimally pick up this story. Let's see if the rest of the media does it's job.

Sanrene,

I agree that Obama has something to hide. Even if these records aren't made public, you would think that the left would be alarmed that Obama held a 1995 campaign event at the home of Ayers and his wife, fellow former terrorist Bernadine Dohrn.

I guess that you can't get through to comatose "believers".
