"He's opposed to the McCain-Kennedy bill, which is a form of amnesty any way you look at it. When the bill was in its early stages he supported the authors early efforts, but never endorsed it, as it was still in development at the time. He is hugely opposed to it in its final form as it allows illegals to stay here permanently and to collect on social security benefits they paid toward as illegal workers, among other things."
