Ive sat through no less than 100 city commision meetings. If you want to talk municipal budgets I am definately in the loop. How about you, got any idea how a city generates revenue. Who and how property taxes are collected an spent. How grants are applied for and recieved from the state and fed govt

go brush up and come back when you know what you talk about

She didn't single-handedly spend $20 million. It was voted on, approved by city council, and spent on badly-needed new roads and repairs to current ones. The area encompassing Wasilla is the fastest growing in the state and the infrastructure could not keep up.

Keep in mind, they absolutely love her there. There may be some that don't (like that moronic Senator) but most love what she did during her tenure.

$20 million isn't a whole lot considering what was done--I know that just one 1/2 mile section of the interstate that is being redone by my house costs $13 million with a $5 million bonus to complete it early. That's ONE HALF MILE!

You didn't mention, nor did the article, how the debt was left with the citizens. Was it a bond? Has it been paid back? Was there a plan? You mentioned NONE of that.

Of course, that was the agenda, no?

Not that kind of Republican. There are a handful of fiscal conservatives that don't care to pass laws against who you sleep with. But they're kooks.

Well, the entire population of Alaska is less than half the size of my county of residency (Fairfax) population. Public services here are pretty much at the top notch level.....and it's not the fed money that support them but the property taxes primarily. So just b/c gov. Palin was able to cut taxes in freaking Alaska of places, doesn't necessarily translate into a BIG accomplishment. She can cut taxes all the time but the truth is the government there doesn't have to do much for its residents.

Yo0u can say it all you want, It wont resonate, eveyone is becoming very aware that McCain and Palin represent reduced spending, ear marks and pork. All traditional ideas of the GOP that were lost on dubya.

Good try but Fairfax County is no state of Alaska. Gov Palin policies would be disastrous. Thank, but no thanks.

That 1/2 mile in Houston will see more cars in a week than the roads in Alaska do in a life time. cannot quite compare a Interstate in Houston with a road in Alaska!
