Republican presidential candidate John McCain took in $6.8 million in donations yesterday, when he named Alaska Governor Sarah Palin his running mate.
Oh yeah. The enthusiasm is real and paying off big time with this brilliant pick by Mccain. Let's see whose based is more enthused come election day!

More people watched Obama than the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics. Obama filled a stadium of 80,000 people. Obama 50 times more money than John McCain during this campaign. I wouldn't hold my breath Sanrene. And stop being such a troll.

Yeah I'm sure supporters of Hillary would vote for a candidate who believes the exact opposite of what Hillary stood for, when Barack Obama shares exactly the same views as Hillary. You are really breaking new ground here Copernicus.

Don't spend it all in one place.

Obama has triple the cash on hand. A 40 Million difference and he raised double the amount McCain did in July.

Wait till this Month's figures are in. McCain will be even further behind. Obama gave a historic speech, picked a well known and liked VP/ and had a high rating

Convention.

For the GOP...Hurricane Gustav and a know-name, inexperienced VP pick???

People watching on TV and drawing 80,000 to a stadium doesn't necessarily translate into votes.

I think I remember reading somewhere that Kerry and McGovern also drew large crowds. Nuff said.

Mccain will have plenty of cash, don't worry about that. You see, after his convention, he doesn't have to fundraise every day up to the election - He will be handed $84 million for the last two months. Obama, on the other hand, will have to fundraise every day.

Not to mention the Cash the GOP and RNC have on hand. I'm not worried on that front.

Again, you don't know what you are talking about.

Democratic Campaign Commitees as a whole have much more money.

Committee July Receipts Disbursements Cash-on-Hand
DSCC (est.) $5,300,000.00 $8,500,000.00 $43,000,000.00
NRSC (est.) $3,700,000.00 $2,900,000.00 $25,400,000.00
DCCC $6,006,328.98 $4,202,329.17 $56,456,584.36
NRCC $9,194,028.93 $3,541,093.03 $14,117,767.55

Total Democrats $11,306,328.98 $12,702,329.17 $99,456,584.36
Total Republicans $12,894,028.93 $6,441,093.03 $39,517,767.55

The GOP cannot win elections without having a hugh advantage in fund raising as they've done in the past. They need that gap for propaganda purposes.

This year, their schtick is just not working anymore.
