Hi All,
I watched the RNC convention tonight on Fox News and was it me, that the commentators afterwards were less than impressed? I figured (being Fox News and all) they would be gushing all over what was said. Instead we heard the speeches were backwards, McCain dating a stripper probably wasn't a good idea, etc. Only Karl Rove said a speech nailed a point about Obama and his record.

I think it was just a strange night for them...am I alone?

I’m sorry I had a TV blackout while it was on the air and didn’t see a thing. I’ll let the talking heads tell me what they thought of it. It’s too scary to see and hear them before bedtime.

Default Fair and Balanced

Fox News fell back to a position that allows them to appear as if they have journalistic integrity. They didn’t need to be shills for the RNC tonight because Joe Lieberman’s speech made an extremely compelling case for John McCain’s Presidential candidacy.

Fred Thompson and Joe Lieberman together have allowed the McCain campaign to remain viable in this race. First, Mr. Thompson gave a wonderful reintroduction of McCain by colorfully recounting his life story. Then Joe Lieberman betrayed his party, or put America first depending on your political leanings, by imploring both Democrats and Independents to vote for his close friend John McCain.

You took the words right out of my mouth. I also watched CNN's coverage of the convention. All they could focus on was Lieberman. I thought they were going to call him Judas as they feel that he was truly a flip flopper tonight. They made a big point about Lieberman completely backing Palin, when she is opposite of what he has publically stood for.

Either way the next 8 or so weeks will be interesting.

Here’s Joe Lieberman praising Obama back in ‘06. This is more evidence that Joe has attached himself to McCain out of fear of being ‘left behind’ in the Senate and not because he believes McCain is the right choice for President. (h/t Scarce)
“As far as I’m concerned [Barack Obama] is a ‘Baruch,’ which means a blessing. He is a blessing to the United States Senate, to America, and to our shared hopes for better, safer tomorrows for all our families. The gifts that God has given to Barack Obama are as enormous as his future is unlimited. As his mentor, as his colleague, as his friend, I look forward to helping him reach to the stars and realize not just the dreams he has for himself, but the dreams we all have for him and our blessed country.”
Joe proclaims that Obama will make America safer and said he would help Obama realize all the dreams for our country. Will he say this with pride during the RNC convention? Let’s see if the media brings this up when they cover his speech.
