This reminds me of when Springsteen protested Reagan's use of Born in the USA.
Rush Limbaugh got told the same thing. He didn't listen.

There are many bands that the Republicans can feel right at home with. These include:
Big Reb -- Bootleg Bill -- Carl Klang -- Col. Sharecropper -- The Crusaders (not the black jazz group that sang "Street Life") -- De New Sheriff -- The **** -- Johnny Rebel -- Otis and the 3 Bigots -- Reid Stubbs -- Roughneck Rebel -- Son of Mississippi

Didnt McCain get some jabs during the 2000 campaign when he said he liked Nine Inch Nails to try to sound "with it", and someone blasted him based on their lyrical content?

You're a songwriter? Ha. Maybe you should hire an attorney to explain things to you or at least talk with someone who's actually in the music business.

It's common for new artists to surrender their rights to the music. That means they don't own it, someone else, usually the studio, producer or agent does. And also music catalogs get sold down the road.

That's like the Beatles songs. Paul McCartney doesn't own them, Michael Jackson does and he (and Tito) can do whatever he wants with the music and Paul McCartney can't do a damn thing about it.

Before you start spouting off, you ought to check to see who really does own Heart's music catalog, and as someone else had the common sense to point to look into the the "fair use doctrine" and licensing under ASCAP.

Not all artists surrender their rights. Part of my catalog is with a publisher with certain restrictions on use. Part of it I own all the publishing, therefore control usages outright.

I certainly don't need YOU to explain it to me. I've been a working writer for many years.

Oh, and BTW, ASCAP's just one of the PRO's. I'm a SESAC writer. Maybe you should have an attorney explain it to you?

You sure have an attitude....

This song is not appropriate for a lady. Most of Nuges songs are all about sex is this what you think of her??

Can't say I blame them, who in their right mind would want their band's name/song associated with that freak show?
