he was a lucky one, most that loose a plane do not return.
I have heard several stories of WWII where pilots had to bail due to damaged parts of aircraft, they were unsafe to land, or they were destroyed during landing because of damage.
Yeah, but five to one guy?
Has that ever happened in the past?
I would not think anyone would allow that guy up in a plane again.
Those things are expensive not to mention that the lives of the rest of the people on board must have some value to out armed forces.
I don't know anything about the other four, but have you even bothered to look into what happened on the Forrestal? A plane that was missing a safetying pin that keeps missiles from firing accidentally shot one off that hit a jet near the one McCain was waiting to take off in.
Trying to blame that on him is like someone blaming you for someone keying your car in the middle of the night.
So, you think it was some kind of Voodoo curse, then?
So the attacks on Palin hurt you liberals and now your back to attacking McCain. Sorry to tell you this but this country is in line behind McCain and Palin and it will take a bunch more lies to stop it.
The liberals list is growing shorter by the minute. They are running out of things.
Wait until Palin's affair breaks. It may be a matter of record, so it will be hard to grease palms to shut that one down.
The A-1s were a propeller driven aircraft that had no radar and a poor safety record, crashing for inexplicable reasons. If you saw "We were soldier once..." that was an A-1 that crashed and to this day no one has a clue why it crashed.
The A-4 he was flying when shot down was not much better than the A-1. It had a jet engine and very primitive avionics. A total of 352 A-4s were lost in Vietnam so it isn't like McCain was a bad pilot.
How many times has a guy lost FIVE????
As I said, it's like the kid who skipped school many times, with that credible excuse each time, but somehow you stop believing him.

I doubt he does but he may think ANYBODY who would think this was his fault is an idiot. Me, being one who has more then his share of flight deck experience KNOWS it.

Using your calculus, Chuck Yeager and "Pappy" Boyington come instantly to mind.
