My own religious preference might be termed "Pentecostal." I would prefer to use the term "Charismatic interdenominational." There are many differing beliefs/groups that would fall under that umbrella. Some I would be in agreement with and some not so much. This designation would categorize groups such as Assembly of God, United Pentecostal, Foursquare Churches, Pentecostal Holiness, Church of God and many, many non-denominational groups such as the one I attend. The general belief that probably unites us all is the belief that the gifts of the Holy Spirit as outlined in the New Testament still exist today. (This would differ from churches which categorize themselves as "cessationalist" churches -meaning a belief that the gifts of the Holy Spirit have ceased.)

As for the term "faith healing" it is simply a belief that God can and does heal people today in supernatural ways with or without the use of medicine. In other words, simply healing manifested as "answered prayer."

All in all, most of us are not especially weird. We just believe in a more "New Testament" type church than others. Some groups have taken certain doctrines/scriptures and "gone to seed" on them such as the snake handling deal, but that's aberrant, not typical of the vast majority of the groups I have described.

I was raised Catholic and we were taught to be tolerant, and respect others. In general, an agenda of intolerance is NOT what we want in a world leader. This is a very serious issue.

This is no big deal. It's just another religion among many. No reason for fear. I know many people of that religion. The beliefs are a little strange, but not threatening. In fact, My ex-Mother in law was a preacher in the Assembly of God church, so I know a bit about their practices. I went there quite alot, and it was interesting, but never did anyone try to force me to join, and of course I didn't. I never saw anyone handle snakes. Most of the people were just ordinary people, nice, friendly, and helpful. Of course there are many different Charismatic churches, and aybe not all are alike. I wouldn't worry about them. They are not political. They do "speak in tongues", can dance pretty good, and the music can get loud--almost like being at a rock concert.

Google it. McCain lobbyists.

Ogilvy Advertising, et. al. He has 60 lobbyists, some are on leave, its gahrd to follow as he knows people are researching it.

Apparently according to the Pastor of this Assembly of God in Wasilla, they do practice faith healing and MANY MANY illnesses are considered healable by PRAYER ONLY.........VERY VERY INTERESTING.

Learn the rules Glitch. Its not PC to attack a former Mod. Who paid for your posts? A pretty lame counter-attack, and to be expected from a Palin-drone.

Yeah. No wonder she does not support National Health Care.
