"I didn't decide to run for president to start a national crusade for the political reforms I believed in or to run a campaign as if it were some grand act of patriotism. In truth, I wanted to be president because it had become my ambition to be president. . . . In truth, I'd had the ambition for a long time."

Case CLosed!
Is this true? If it is why hasn't it been brought up before now?
That's the thing about McCain. Every now and then he has these moments of honesty where he drops his guard. I wonder when he is going to own up to all the pandering to the right he has done for this election.

It's right out of his book.

Right after this, Keith Olbermann was demoted by NBC. McCain came right out and admitted that he ran for office because he wanted "the prize" and said nothing about serving our country. I know he was a war hero, but we really need to say "thanks but no thanks." Even when that new anti-Obama ad was aired (implying Obama is a pervert) his spokesperson brought up that McCain is a war hero instead of answering a direct question. Both he and Palin rarely address an issue and are hoping the people will vote with their emotions and prejudices, not their judgment.
Clearly McCain misspoke himself. We all know he puts country first . . . and uses his career to bring about change.
There is a difference between "mis-speaking" and putting it in print where you have the opportunity to revise, edit or re-write. Mis-speaking is saying "your Muslim faith". This is blatant and intentional.
Of course, politicians are able to flip-flop and get away with it so it's also irrelevant unless they are held accountable.
