Acting Gov Earl Ray Tomblin of West Virginia holds off the GOP/TP challanger and wins election to his first full term. The SCOTUS approved no-limits Republican PACS threw a ton of out-of-state cash at Tomblin, with a last-minute TV blitz tying him to Obamacare.

But it didn't work! Coal miners and their families appreciate the value of a little socialism in their lives when it comes to health care, organized labor, and workplace safety. Not exactly GOP strongpoints.

Maybe Obama's coat-tails won't be as slippery in 2012 as we thought!

Republican attacks on labor unions have consequences.

Sign of things to come -- in a year they can't lose, the Republics are going to lose.

I think its funny... when the GOP wins, then it means nothing.... when a Democrat wins, well then it actually means something... you think liberals are the biggest idiots in the world... well, you'll be right... its funny how liberals make fun of WV... that is until it has something to do with liberalism....

I didn't even know there was an election there, until someone brought it up here, I believe yesterday.
What is Tomblin's platform?

I didn't find much on the web, where he stands on WV issues.

From your link:

Though Democrats held on to the governor’s mansion Tuesday night, there was a silver lining for the GOP. Republicans were able to draw on the unpopularity of President Obama to make the contest much tighter than expected.
The incumbent Democrat was up by 33 points a few months ago and managed to squeak out a two point win. I guess that's something for you libs to gloat about. God knows you can't talk about any achievements out of the Oblama administration.

I asked this too. Just a lot of people sticking their tongues out at others here so far, but eventually, someone might elaborate.

Which explains why there are about 8 threads when a GOP person wins a small congressional race and one very short one when a Democrats wins a governorship.
