Not unexpected unless one's been sucked into the big lie . . . the truth is it's the true conservative republican party that's the party of the middle class.

This is true IMO. Another poster suggested Obama pick a running mate from this group, a fiscally conservative but socially (legislatively) progressive Republican, which sounds well-balanced to me.

That would be a tough to beat combination. . . . Although he'd need a sanity check if he did it, I still hold out hope he picks Hillary just for the potential enjoyment that whole situation could bring.

Last 2 elections I saw there was only one Republican Party on the ballot that had a legitimate shot, and their guy has made government bigger than ever and spent $$$ like a drunken sailor, not to mention engaging in extremely costly nation building which has yet to show signs of long term benefit to the US.

Where is this mystical concervative party you speak of?

Word is Obama and McCain may "split a jet" to their debates to save energy and demonstrate civility. Why not a conservative VP? I'd vote for him.

Agreed. Why a candidate would even consider picking a VP with her negs is beyond reasonable thinking. The question becomes how far does he go in pandering to her sullen followers.
