CNN did a fact check today on McCain's ad claiming that Obama was one of the largest recipients of funds from Freddie and Fannie.

This is another distortion of the truth.

It is true Obama received somewhere around $130,000 from Freddie and Fannie employees.

However, McCain received $169,000 from Freddie and Fannie executives and lobbyists. Obama received $16,000 from executives and lobbyists.

Yes. That was the misleading figure.

Are you suggesting that is the only Freddie/Fannie money that is relevant?

Who they give money to isn't important, it's the free market, hands off neo-con philosophy that does.

And you conveniently ignore the following:

"However, McCain received $169,000 from Freddie and Fannie executives and lobbyists. Obama received $16,000 from executives and lobbyists."

Considering that the VAST MAJORITY of Obama's money has come from small donations from individuals (as in EMPLOYEES of those companies - among many others) it's not surprising he has the higher number in the figures you list - nor is there ANYTHING WRONG WITH THAT.

I have FAR more concern about donations from company executives and lobbyists than I do about the donations from the rank and file employees. When was the last time Joe Blow the janitor or Jane Blaine the secretary ever got a special favor in return for their little donation? Lobbyists and business execs however... well, that's another story (why do you think Lobbyists give?)
