Paranoid much?

Do you have the slightest idea of the financial mess we're in?

I would say that if "the media" are trying to help get Obama elected, that proves they're all Republicans!

Duh!!!!!!!!!

The economy is sound and will stay sound if the financial sector is cleane up. Obama and the media are artificially describing every facet of American life as bad to usurp power.

You're not serious are you?

When Paulson and Bernake met with Congress to tell them what was going on it has been reported by both sides that stunned silence reigned for at least ten seconds then was broken by gasps.

I don't know about you but when do anything hardened politicians are gasping over information that worries me a tiny bit.

Paulson was on Meet the Press yesterday morning. It was pretty clear then that the seriousness of the situation has exactly nothing to do with the elections.

Absolutely they are.

I have no doubt if Obama wins, the economy will make a miraculous recovery in record time.

The media is his secret weapon and the economy is his ace in the whole.

How horrible it must be to wish for the economy to collapse just so you can get elected.

ProudCapMarine, I'm going to assume that you have little or no experience working with economic indicators to get a picture of our situation. If you don't trust the media or financial experts on gauging the current economic climate, this is one of the best sources you can check to get the government's take on things. And remember, the government has more information and data to work off of than the rest of us. We used to check this site daily in one of my finance courses, and it remains a basic tool that economists rely on as well:

U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) - bea.gov Home Page
