OK - for all y'all who were whining that the LIBERAL MEDIA (including, apparently W...) was making the economy seem SO MUCH WORSE than it REALLY was to help OBAMA.

Do ya' think the REPS are delaying this "BAILOUT" on PURPOSE now so McCain can study a little harder for his debate????

McCain

Nice try.

Would you give Dodd and Frank a blank check to just screw things up all over again? No way.

The dems have trouble with spending money that is not theirs, so the REPS are making sure this is in the best interest of all of us.

The worst congress in our history and you want them to have a blank check?

... or are they delaying it so that tomorrow night's debate gets cancelled and rescheduled next week, replacing Palin - Biden?

Try again indeed!

This idea is coming from your president, George W. Bush. The blank check, as you refer to it, is going to the US Treasury as per their request. Now the last time I checked, Treasury was a department of the executive branch of government, headed by the Republican President, George W. Bush. So, are you trying to tell us that Republicans in the House are rejecting the proposal from the President who is a member of their own party because they are concerned about Dodd and Frank?

Spare me! Better yet, spare us all!

Well, apparently the deal earlier was crap. And it's been stated that numerous Reps were against it, before McCain even did this so-called stunt. Many actually believe the Dems were pulling a stunt in saying there was a deal. So, believe what ya want. I for one want a plan, but not this garbage that Paulson and Bernanke came up with.

Maybe the Republicans are waiting for "Gardengate" to grow:

The real stunt is you liberals who are wanting to get this deal done when you know it is wrong.

Agreed!! I'd like to be an investigative reporter on that deal! Clearly something changed after McCain arrived on the scene.. I wonder if a brave Repub will eventually spill the beans on what *really* happened and turned that near-compromise around. How could everything have possibly changed so radically within an hour??
