I really don't care what comedians and celebrities think about candidates and their campaigns, but considering how often McCain has appeared on Letterman (no less than 13 times) and given how much praise Letterman has heaped on McCain, it now appears that he's having second thoughts....LOL

Pretty funny stuff...

Funny or boring? Maybe that's why I like Leno more, he is funnier.

Letterman's comments do hold a good deal of truth (i.e. there more than 'the economy' that is causing this halting of his campaign - even if it is 'just for the economy' god forbid he would let Palin really "continue" the campaign), but I also see a bit of sour grapes about having a guest cancel at the last minute.

that was pretty funny, but I certainly see why the campaign needed to cancel. You need to send a somber mood when you (in good judgement or not) suspend a campaign.

McCain is a typical politician...if this doesn't prove it, you're not listening. I don't deny he was a war hero, but the 26 years in Washington turned him into this blindingly ambitious, manipulative, angry little man.

What a dog, canceling last minute under the pretext that his country needs him and then going on another interview.

Talk about burning your bridges.

Maybe he has totally given up on his campaign.

He raised a great point: Why isn't Palin stepping in and campaigning for them? She's the second fiddler right?

She is supposed to be qualified to be President if McCain is unable, why not take this opportunity to showcase her leadership skills now?

I suspect it's more an utter disbelief that a man who is running for POTUS, would resort to such namby pamby bull****.

Letterman & Leno rule the almost bedtime late night TV - America watches each night. I have never heard Letterman go off on a politician except George Bush [but everybody goes manic with Bush]. This is the worst PR a candidate can get [dis David Letterman

What we are observing is the implosion of a campaign!
