I just ran out for a bit. I passed the house of our county's GOP delegate. She went to the state convention and the national convention as an alternate delegate. She did not get a vote at the Convention, but she was a die hard McCain supporter back in March. She laughed at me when she found out I was a Ron Paul supporter. She's very pro-Israel and pro-Iraq. She believes firmly in the Bush doctrine and thinks our only hope of defeating terrorism is to fight wars over there rather than here. Long story short, she's supporting Obama and even has a yard sign and a sticker on her Lexus. She changed her mind this week "because of the economic crisis, Palin's interviews, and her overall feeling that McCain has been a disaster". Those were her words.

I'm having coffee with her tomorrow morning. I can't wait to pick her brain about this. She said others in the local GOP are starting to think the same way.

I may have been wrong to assume McCain would carry NC.

I was shocked. This woman bashed the Democrats in her delegate speech at the county convention. She made it seem like Obama and Hillary were the two most evil people in the US.

Well, either she is a Democrat at heart, or she is an idiot. NO true republican would vote for the MOST liberal in senate. That is a big, big no no. Thats like a Democrat voting for the most conservative senator...I would question whether they were truly Democrat.

And what is true for NC for Dems (about voter sentiment changing)....is true for McCain in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Oregon, Washington, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.

You know, I think it might have something to do with who is the better candidate in her eyes. But I'll let her tell me in her own words.

Wow, Ellie Mae is on the fence while Clinton and Lieberman are solidly for the known Patriot.

You wouldnt believe how many people there are in Pennsylvania that were Clinton supporters now backing McCain. I visited this town of about 19,000 +/- and I was shocked to see that 68% of the residents were Registered Democrats. My aunt, who lived in this town, said their local paper did a survey, and found that almost 70% of the town was supporting McCain....and believe me, there was McCain crap EVERYWHERE.
