Palin didn't win the debate. She just stuck to her script. She didn't make herself look like a fool either. If NOT making yourself look stupid is winning then Palin did it. To know what you are talking about and answering every question and NOT look scripted then Palin lost it.

BINGO I agree Palin saved herself but still doesn't mean she saved Mccain.

I think if ticket was Palin vs Mccain most would prefer Palin as of today .

Mccains campaign is ill run and he represents old guard people tired of it . Palin did great tonight but Mccain has to save himself as VP can only go so far.

Exactly, she had to stick to what she memorized.

Biden appeared to whine more. Palin appeared to just present her arguments.
Elaborate, because I have yet to hear one clear argument from the McCain camp that couldn't be spun one way or another depending on the reaction from their voter base.

Biden had the facts, and he was prepared for her lies. Palin had her cutie-pie winks, country diction and feel-good talking points.

This was all about her not looking as bad as she did in the last 2 interviews. On that she won.

As for the debate itself, she lost!

I agree. That is precisely what she did. She saved herself after teetering dangerously close to the edge of becoming the biggest joke in election history - and dragging him down with her. It might pull the splintering base back together. Is it going to pull in undecided Indies? Unlikely and those are the ones he needs now. The base simply isn't enough.

I have to agree. I posted early on in the live thread that she was constantly bringing up the records of McCain and Obama and Biden was straight up telling her that she was wrong or ignoring the facts. She does not even know her own tickets past and issues let alone the other tickets.

She looked like any other sports anchor on a local news affiliate that got coached to participate in a big time debate.

It was Biden who lied which is normal for him.

Agreed. For all of Bidens years in the Senate, he let her walk him right down a path. Amazing.
