I know Palin does the same thing, but remember, she is the #2 seat. This is the way I see it from the oposition.
Obama has mastered and perfected about 50 talking points. He has about 5 for each major topic. When Obama is asked a specific question, he gathers his thought and spits out one of his canned, rehearsed, and well coached answer from his pile of the 50 he has mastered. The answer that he feels will best answer that specific question. The problem is, it does not answer the specific question. As a voter, I see through this. It is also very annoying and almost insulting to my intelligence.
Now I know both candidates do it to a certain point, but McCain seems to be able to fly by the seat of his pants, go out on a limb and really address the specifics of what is asked. I think Obama needs to do this more, but at this point, honestly, he is just playing keep away as he is up in the polls. He is also probably not capable of playing this way.
As for McCain, he did very well and I thought was sincere and polite. The problem is, he needed a huge momentum changer and I don't think this did it. McCain showed again that he is a true gentleman and has respect. Unfortunately, he needs a crash course in how to punch someone in the nose, because there is a lot to beat Obama down about.

Is that why he deliberately avoided shaking Obama's hand, pushing Cindy ahead?

I feel exactly the same way. Obama does not answer the questions, and it is insulting to me also. I think the next debate needs to be a yes/no debate. The response to any question must be either "yes, I agree", or "no, I disagree", and then expand and explain their postion. I do not know what Obama stands for, other than "change".

Wow, you sound like a terrorist.
Um, that is figuratively lady, not literal. Do you by chance suffer from autism and take things literally? Come on, you know exactly what I mean! The gloves come off? Last round of a the fight? etc, etc, etc, all talking points to describe where we are in this race. Get a clue, please!

Oh, you didn't really mean you wanted to punch him. You were just using a metaphor. I guess the idea that Michelle Obama, Rev. Wright, Ayres...they're literal. I won't insult autistic people by labeling you as such.
She's not running for office, and she didn't just debate him.
