The stock market went from 14,000 to just a little over 10,000 as of now.

People's savings and 401Ks are being wiped out.

We have a housing bubble that's been hurting many people.

We have a credit crisis that threatens the economy.

Companies are starting to lay people off left and right.

Most people are struggling to make ends meet.

These are real issues that are bringing down this country. I hope people will ignore the trolls, see pass the lies and vote intelligently.

But does either of the two golden candidates have an actual well thought out plan to deal with the many problems we are facing right now? To me, it looks like they are both blowing smoke up their voters azzes, but not much else. After all, the fact that so much pork was added into the bailout bill (by both parties) and neither party nor candidate is condemning it tells me everything I need to know. Whichever way you vote both candidates are more interested in party loyalty and status quo then the good of the country.
Only Ron Paul had the b*lls to call it, and he was called a 'kook' for doing it.

Well, the fact of the matter is, that if you call things for what they are, and engage in honest debate and conversation, no candidate could get elected. Unfortunately the bulk of America is not educated and are simply not *that* wise, in general.
The general population would like to hear "Inside Edition" or "Entertainment Tonight" drama regarding the candidates, or some sensationalist charge, rather than honest talk or a descriptive plan. This captures more votes and engages more people.
Real issues can be too daunting and "boring" for general American folk. They want them some "drama." Therefore, the campaigns are full of it. Whoever can draw up the best theatrics, can typically win.

Okay, I know this is Jim Cramer and many people hate him, but look at his plan for what the Treasury should do:

Candidate-wise, Obama has the better advisors.

But either way I dont envy the person who "wins" this mess.

I believe Obama and his crew will be flexible enough to listen, study, evaluate and act wisely - without wasting time politicking a la McCain last week - in a time of neck-snapping hairpin twists and turns. I dont see a lot of bright economic minds volunteering to help guide McCain.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The Federal Reserve on Monday announced a series of steps to funnel massive amounts of liquidity through clogged credit markets, including boosting the sizes of cash auctions and offering banks interest on reserves.

Accurate observations regarding the real issues. However, it matters not who we vote for this election since the popular vote as always will have little to no bearing on who gets elected... it's the electoral college which will decide who the next US President is. The electoral college is almost completely composed of Republicans or Democrats who will almost certainly vote their party affiliation; what you're seeing thus today is an illusion of choice presented via the media. The reality is that your biggest/only real choice was when you voted (or didn't vote) for your state and local representatives in the last election. Those are the folks who are part of the electoral college, and who will directly elect the next US President.
