Might want to explain, what smear tactics by McCain/Palin exactly? I only ask because hundreds of thousands of people are watching a Keating/McCain video smear video put out by the Obama campaign today.... I guess you havent noticed that one..
At the risk of sounding like a 6th grader on a playground, I would like to point out that McCain (and Palin) have been using smeal tactics the entire campaign. Obama and Biden have held their tongues and tried to run an honorable campaign. Then, this weekend, McCain and Palin pulled out the Ayers stuff--which is ridiculous based on Obama's age when the terrorist attacks happened. Obama's camp had no choice but to reply with something negative about McCain.
One other thing: The allegations against Obama are just that--allegations without any proof.
The allegations against McCain are TRUTH not ALLEGATIONS.
And now to really sound like a 6th grader, "McCain started it."
It's all just a last ditch effort that will garner a few more votes for McCain but will lose him just as many in the process, IMO, and his dignity to go along with them.

other than seeing legit photos of Obama flying airplanes into buildings, NOTHING is going to change my mind at this point. Even If I did see those photos, I would just stay home on election day. Someone who voted with bush 70-90 percent of the time could not possibly convince me that the change is coming. Ross Perot might be the closest I could come to voting for anything resembling a republican. A self made billionaire might know a thing or two, but the POW who sang like a songbird to the Vietnam propaganda machine, and used it to try and manipulate my best judgement, NO WAY.
I think the McCain/Palin tactic is about "Why Obama should not be President of the United States."
A lot of people do not know this newcomer guy whose promised the world to the Americans and deemed as the Messiah by his supporters.
That's the failure of the McCain/Palin strategy -- try to tear down the opponent, to avoid talking about the issues. Nevermind that Palin is the newcomer and Obama is the tried-and-true veteran of 12 years of elected office and 27 debates in this campaign alone (perhaps the most ever!)
The question is, will anyone fall for it? I agree with OP, I doubt it.
