True I forgot Amy went to public school. Chelsea went to private. who else went to private?
Still there is no point to this thread, Barack can chose public or private, thats his choice and his right.
Yup this is a POS thread run by an angry person who's party is about to lose.

the local government did, but we all know where they get their marching orders from.

It has nothing to do with being in touch with regular Americans or with supporting public education. It has to do with security. If he sent his children to public school and they were kidnapped by some group threatening to kill them if the President didn't use his power to further their agenda, you would be the first in line screaming about how stupid Obama was to put our country at risk by sending his kids to public schools.

DC public schools are not run by the federal government. DCPS is run just like a large city public school system. NAEP (National Assessment of Educational Progress) scores are very low for DCPS eighth graders: NAEP Researchcenter - NAEP and State Equivalent Percent Table. With the educational issues added to security issues, I'd be sending my kids to private school if I had to live in DC, too.

I believe in supporting public schools, but not at the expense of my own children. BTW, my child does attend public school.

it's the irony of it all. if obama wasn't running for president, he would still put his kids in private school because of lack of faith in government schools. this thread seems to have really struck a nerve. I love it when I do that.
