what it comes down to is this. barack obama knows damn well that the private sector can produce a better product than the government can, he just won't admit it because he's a greedy SOB who wants money and power.
I went to public school with the senate majority leaders kids, so that's BS.
Most kids don't know who or what the senate majority leader is hence the lessened need for security. Who is more likely to be kidnapped, assaulted or attacked? Who is more of a public figure? Who is the child of the supposed most powerful person on the world?
Your thread was started with the obvious intent to cause arguments, for you to attack people's opinions with out of context questions and the "if you aren't for it you are against it" mentality but what is your point? Doubt there is one other than to see your thread gain pages and pages or to hopefully gain unwarranted rep points from the lunatic righties or tell people you went to school with a senate majority leaders kid.........and I am sure no one gives a s**t about that.
You did get your wish though. People are really up in arms about this. Who cares where he sends his kids to school and NoVa schools are much better than DC. The Prez lives in the WH, the Senate Majory Leader lives where they want to. Different school districts homie.

go ahead and play it down. your assumption is ridiculous. I grew up in fairfax county VA, and went to a public high school with children of congressmen and senators. you are wrong.
But when you grew up (back in the stone age I presume, based on some of your postings/thinking), public schools were quite a bit different just about everywhere. We're also not talking about kids who would attend Fairfax County schools- we're talking about DC schools- just a little different, wouldn't you say???

Not in the aggregate. What school in Fairfax did you go to and how wealthy was the service area? How secure and was security even a question for the parent you reference. You have to remember that even in the United States kidnapping and security are concerns for many affluential/influential folks.
At any rate I don't expect his kids to attend DC schools and would that they don't.

So, you're saying that parents who send their kids to Catholic or other parochial schools are not 'regular Americans'? How about home schooling or military academies or charter schools?

He clearly does know that and that is why he is such a strong advocate for school reform and change so that all children get a better chance at a quality education. Both candidates know our school system is broke and needs to be fixed. DC ischools are very broke.
