Sorry, "HUSSEIN" baiters. The McCain campaign knows what you're up to.
BETHLEHEM, PA. -- Republican John McCain's presidential campaign today disavowed an introduction here that included Democrat Barack Obama's middle name, Hussein, injecting a note of civility into a presidential campaign that has become increasingly nasty.

William Platt, chairman of the Lehigh County Republican Party, twice referred to "Barack Hussein Obama," which other supporters of McCain and running mate Sarah Palin have used to link the Democratic candidate with Muslims. Obama is not a Muslim.

Did they even mention Ayers today? It may be that Operation Swiftbutt is working.

McCain and Palin appeared together today, so Ayers was not mentioned. They are trying to keep McCain above the fray.

They're not quite done with it yet - Palin brought Ayers up in Pensacola this morning. She got the expected frenzied "BOOO!"s.
Standing before a sea of red T-shirts and homemade signs reading “No Communists!” and “Palin’s Pitbulls,” Ms. Palin on Tuesday nestled in to her Republican base.
...
She repeatedly attacked Mr. Obama for his association with Bill Ayers, the leader of a 1960s radical group, the Weather Underground.
...
“Get him, Sarah!” one woman yelled.

Actually this story is interesting also in that (without comment) it makes note of the special kind of people she attracts.

That's probably it, but I prefer to think McCain told her, "Sarah, you're gonna have to shut the hell up. You're ^%$ing everything up for me."

It's absolutely ridiculous that it is considered bad practice to use the guy's middle name. If he hates it so, maybe he should have stayed with Barry Soetoro, a name he used in his younger years.
