What amazes me most about Sen McCain was that in 2000 I wanted to cast a ballot for him because those were the qualities I thought he represented. In 2008 he has abandoned everything he stood for.

I'm an American, a veteran of the United States Navy and a Republican and you my fellow veteran, have been lied to.
Barack Obama is a socialist and does not have the good of a sovereign America at heart and for sure does not have the good of your fellow Devil Dogs at heart.
Sure this country is hurting but, with him in the White House it will hurt worse and for a lot longer.

I forgive you.

After seeing Bush sandbag McCain in the SC primary that year I disdained the man. Now McCain is playing with that same playbook. No thanks.

I know military people. They are hard on their ways.
He did not make a switch easily. He clearly and intelligently laid out his reasons for choosing to support Obama. Like most military, when they are presented with facts they are able to seperate them from b.s. and make a decision of their course of action based upon those facts. And, as the widow of a Marine and the mother of an active SGM, I thank him for his service and salute him for his clear thinking.

Well I am a Navy Vet too and I say NuB703 was spot on. Our military has been mislead long enough.

This divided America has a number of people who are clueless and narrow-minded. There are Americans who fail to demand facts, issues or well-reasoned arguments. Rather than research issues from independent sources and make intelligent decisions on their own, there are those of us who absorb the self-serving language of such people as Sean Hannity, FOX News, and Rush Limbaugh.

This is unfortunate because Senator Obama has proven to be a dynamic leader, with a vision to achieve real fiscal responsibility, develop intelligent foreign policy, re-build our military and restore, support and defend the U.S. Constitution.

Why do I support Barack Obama? He has the (1) judgment; (2) temperament; (3) vision; (4) and true American values to be a great President.

Republican for Obama/Biden

Thanks for sharing! My brother has a similar story (although Coast Guard, not Marine Corps! ) Anyway, he's a lifelong Republican, supporting Obama. He is sickened by the Bush Administration and its legacy, and doesn't see much promise in John Sidney McCain III.

Thumbs up Republican for Obama/Biden

NuB703,

I couldn't agree with you more.

Signed,

Veteran and Registered Republican (after the election I will not be affiliated with either of the two-major parties).
