Really? Obama wanted to pull-out of Iraq in 2007, to be completed March of 2008. There would have been no surge, the very surge that has made possible a pullout in 3 years, end of 2011.
Wasn't obama's plan to leave in 18 months, starting way back when?
Obviously, three years from now is not his plan.
It is Mac's and the bush administrations plan, who have said all along that we will leave, in honr and victory, when conditions on the ground warrant it.
I know obama and the Left will wish to claim a victory for him, with some insane, twisted, deluded logic - but it just doesn't pass the smell test.
He was wrong as could be on the surge.

How could this possibly be "Bush's and McCain's" plan? I seem to recall both of them refusing to set timelines, and McCain famously let slip his "100 year" exit strategy.
Obama is in sync with President Maliki, who have both set timelines within the years 2010-2011. Don't you remember the embarassment the Bush administration recieved when Maliki implicitly agreed with Obama's exit strategy timetable?
Sorry, but think whatever you want, but this is going down as a strategic Obama win in the eyes of the international community.

Oh did McCain suspend his campaign to help out on this too?
Don't spill any of that Kool Aid on your dress. It stains.

Come on kids put the fruit loops down.
The accord has been on the verge of being signed several times in the past only for fresh objections to be made by the Iraqi government, which has become increasingly confident of its own strength. A compromise has been reached on whether or not US troops can be tried by an Iraqi court if they commit crimes while not engaged in operations. US troops are to withdraw from Iraqi towns and villages by the middle of next year and from Iraq entirely by the middle of 2011 said the government's spokesman, Ali Dabbagh.
Only a fool thinks it would be forever. It's always been till they felt secure enough for a withdrawal.
