It's not only ACORN, as you can see on the latest news. In this case, a BHO supporter was registering people in prison:

Funny how only after McCain began dropping in the polls that this came up, since he's praised ACORN in the past. Today our governor said ACORN was not a problem. If you recall, Charlie Crist was on McCain's list of possible running mates.

I never heard of Acorn before this year. After doing a little research I found out that Acorn has a 40 year history of working to make the lives of low and moderate income people easier. Both Dems and Reps have served on its board. People of all political and religious views have worked with, and contributed to Acorn. Florida Gov. Charlie Crist, partnered with ACORN in March 2008 for a "Homeownership Promotes The Economy" taskforce. More recently, Crist declared that -- contrary to GOP outrage -- he was not upset with the group's voter registration efforts in his state. ACORN supported a law signed by Governor Crist, which "changed the rules last year to restore the voting rights of about 112,000 former convicts."
In July 2005 another Republican governor, Rick Perry of Texas, signed ACORN's Lending Law Reform Bill that changed the state's homelending practices. Look also for others such as; Schwarzenegger, Romney, Bloomberg, Pawlenty, who have all worked closely with Acorn to pass bills protecting lower income people. Some of its biggest contributors have been Republican.

Since 2004 Acorn has helped 1.7 million people register to vote. Not surprising to find a percentage that need to be investigated. But the numbers I am hearing are only in the tens of thousands. Not even as high as 5%. Every year pundits comment about low voter turnout. Now that might change and that's a bad thing? No one will be going into the booth with those new voters and pulling the lever with them. The only thing that has happened is that they now can pull the lever. What is wrong with that?

Remember any group is only as strong as its weakest person. Don't we all have a vested interest in making sure our nation is strong?

I feel cheated that the village idiot got 2 terms. Nothing tops that.

Nice try trying to tie Obama's win to ACORN. If Obama prevails in this election, it's because he was by far the superior candidate.

One of these days, you will catch on...

I've come to the conclusion that if I were to give people a test with the question, "Which of these definitions does socialism fall under?" and provided the definitions of socialism, capitalism, communism, the Nordic-model, corporatism, and mutualism, most people probably wouldn't get it right. A lot of people on these forums have a very odd and distorted view of what socialism actually is.

Next point:
There are a lot of dumb people on all sides of the political spectrum. According to a Newsweek poll in 2007, only 13% of people in the USA believe in evolution.
According to the National Geographic Society:

My point? There are a lot of dumb people out there.
Takes one to know one.....Birds of a feather flock together.....

Socialism is working for the whole group not for yourself. Everything you do is for the benefit of the whole not the individual. Socialism breeds mediocrity as well as deprives you of your individuality as you are expendable and can be replaced. Socialism goes against the American Dream and everything this country was founded on. Socialism is Obama saying "we need to spread the wealth around"!
Socialism didn’t work for the first pilgrims to land on this great land and it will not work for us now. Bradford learned the hard way after losing 50% of the original pilgrims in their first year to starvation brought on by living under socialism and the idea that they should plow and build as a whole not as an individual. From the journal of William Bradford:
Quote:
Having undertaken, for the Glory of God and advancement of the Christian Faith and Honor of our King and Country, a Voyage to plant the First Colony in the Northern Parts of Virginia, do by these presents solemnly and mutually in the presence of God and one of another, Covenant and Combine ourselves together into a Civil Body Politic, for our better ordering and preservation and furtherance of the ends aforesaid; and by virtue hereof to enact, constitute and frame such just and equal Laws, Ordinances, Acts, Constitutions and Offices, from time to time, as shall be thought most meet and convenient for the general good of the Colony, unto which we promise all due submission and obedience. In witness whereof we have hereunder subscribed our names at Cape Cod, the llth of November, in the year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord King James, of England, France and Ireland the eighteenth, and of Scotland the fifty-fourth. Anno Domini 1620.

They signed a pact to use socialism.....a mistake they would later learn!
Quote:
"'For this community [so far as it was] was found to breed much confusion and discontent, and retard much employment that would have been to their benefit and comfort. For young men that were most able and fit for labor and service did repine that they should spend their time and strength to work for other men's wives and children with out any recompense...that was thought injustice.'"

They learned socialism doesn’t work and half of them died.

Quote:
"They begane now to gather in ye small harvest they had, and to ***** up their houses and dwellings against winter, being all well recovered in health & strenght, and had all things in good plenty; fFor as some were thus imployed in affairs abroad, others were excersised in fishing, aboute codd, & bass, & other fish, of which yey tooke good store, of which every family had their portion. All ye somer ther was no want. And now begane to come in store of foule, as winter approached, of which this place did abound when they came first (but afterward decreased by degrees). And besids water foule, ther was great store of wild Turkies, of which they tooke many, besids venison, &c. Besids, they had about a peck a meale a weeke to a person, or now since harvest, Indean corn to yt proportion. Which made many afterwards write so largly of their plenty hear to their freinds in England, which were not fained, but true reports."

They moved to free-enterprise (capitalism) and they thrived……
Anymore lessons you may need to be taught will have to wait as it is late and I have to employee 30 people in the morning that have all become McCain supporters because they get it! They know that Obama will raise my taxes and leave them without a job.....90% of them have never voted for a Republican before.....100% will be voting for a Republican in this election. No need to thank me as I am just one working Republican since we can't all live on welfare!

Maybe you have gone senile, the 2000 election was stolen by republicans and in 2004, reports of voter fraud by republicans were reported. The republicans are well known for VOTING fraud, they think they can get away this time by distracting with this REGISTRATION "fraud".
Can you offer any proof or just blogs? Where did it blame Republicans for Michigan? Nice try but you will need to do better.....like offer tangible data not allegations that were never proven!
